Sunset/Night Photography Meetup - Sunset View Park - 4pm - 2 hours
The Orange County Photography Group outing with the theme of Sunset/Night Photography. A beautiful sunset can be enjoyed and appreciated by everyone. Photographers refer to the last (dusk) hours of the day as the "golden hours" when the light is at its best for photography. Our light meters can be thrown off by the strong amount of light hitting our sensor, so we will be exploring manual mode and exposure compensation to intensify the colours of our sunset. Once you learn the basics, you'll find out that Sunset/Night photography is really fun. Don' t be afraid to book this class and learn from one of the best in the industry that is very passionate about this style of photography. With Professional photographer as your tutor; you will capture some amazing nature shots accented by the gorgeous colours of the sunset. Hosted by Vincent Nguyen,

We have a different photo theme bimontly and the two hour sessions take place in different outdoor locations around Orange County. It's a great opportunity to try something new with the guidance of a professional photographer, and come away with some new shots for your portfolio or album.

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from amateurs to professionals. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

Complete beginner? Please complete a Beginners Photography Class before attending a regular group session. This is a 3 hour structured workshop where you’ll learn the basics of using your camera with more 1-on-1 time with the instructor. Scroll down for dates.

What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

What’s involved? Each session starts with an introduction to the theme, and the photography instructor will chat about the camera settings and techniques to use. You’ll then have time to take lots of photos, with the instructor present to answer any questions. You’ll receive feedback and have a chance to chat with everyone to share tips and ideas. We’re a social bunch!

After group editing session. After each group the instructor runs an optional 1.5 hour critique, select, and edit session to help you improve your important post-shoot skills. While much editing can be done on modern cameras, it's best to bring a tablet or laptop with editing software to get the most out of this session. Select this option when booking to attend.

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Learning how to capture light trails made for a really unique class. I would never have thought to do this one my own - plus, it's safer as a group when photographer on a sidewalk with cars speeding by :)

I liked that the group was small enough for the host/teacher to be able to help us individually setting up our cameras. I enjoyed Vincent's knowledge of photography and him emphasizing that its not about the equipment you have but the lighting and composition. I'm looking forward to the next class.

Seal Beach was a great location choice. We had the whole beach ourselves, which made it easy to photograph the blue hour as well as the sun rising.

I really enjoyed Hank! He was very thorough and explained things very easily. I can’t wait to take another class with him. I just really wish I would’ve of had a paper and pen to take notes, it’s a little hard to remember everything, but I can say that my Easter pictures came out beautiful! I would like to know if you would be offering editing classes, I don’t have any programs and would not know what to do if I had one. Thank you or an awesome group!
