Second time for the same classs.... I learned many new important information. I had just purchased my first flash for this class. However, my flash was not compatible with my camera. It was well worth to come the second round. David is very knowledgeable and willing to answer all questions. Maybe I will come a third time .... this time with the right flash. Highly recommend this class. Thanks David.

This was a very good class. David covered the material and explained the basics needed to use my camera in a manual mode. The class small and we all got a lot of attention. David encouraged us to ask questions and was able to explain in terms I understood. While my camera will do far more than I will probably ever need or attempt, I will be taking more pictures in the manual mode, understanding better how many of the settings work.

The class was very good. David was able to explain in simple terms the lens settings, the rule of thirds, and picture affects with the different settings. He went over the basic information and was very patient. He made sure he answered all our questions. Then we took photos and returned to review them. He again answered all our questions. I would recommend the class, well worth the money.

This was an amazing class. The instructor quickly assessed our knowledge with flash photography beginning at the level we were at. He provided clear direction in both configuring our camera and flash settings and led us to several scenarios. Both without and with flash - this helped us visually see what benefits and shortcomings occurred with each shot. Very helpful! Also learned benefits of off-camera flash versus on-camera and when to choose between the two. We learned both outdoor and indoor flash. This was really an eye opener for me. I will no longer be frustrated when taking pictures when the subject is in the shadows with strong sunlight. With indoor flash photography we learned the benefit of using both bounced flash and also when to use color filters to correct different lighting (eg, incandescent, florescent). The instructor carefully listened to each question and provided clear/concise answers then had us try for ourselves. There was never a feeling that we were being rushed or that we needed to move along. All questions were answered. I came away much more confident with flash photography and am excited to use my flash. I can not thank the instructor enough for what he helped me understand with this class. He clearly has the knowledge/experience and shared this with the class. Highly recommend others take this class - you too will come away with a new confidence!

While I was taking a walk on this Summer Morning through Central Park in Huntington Beach, Ca., I got a glimpse of this Snowy Egret looking at him/herself in the mirror. The significance of this shot for me was it was my first American Bald Eagle I had captured in the wild - after my wife, Susan, pointed it out to me. I was thrilled and determined to make the best capture I could.Upon closer examination I was awe inspired to see (in detail) the death stare, that razor like tool cutting beak, the unbelievable chest muscles and tremendous talons. I met young Miles at Ellis Square while he was doing some rather gymnastic break dancing. Luckily, for me, I was using my Nikon Z7 which allowed me to switch from raw to jpeg giving me 9 frames per second on motor drive. I was shooting aperture preferred and used f/8 the resulting shutter speed was 1/1600 of a second. 9fps sounds fast but I only had 6 nicely composed shots out of 120 exposures.

It was one of those days that seemed perfect on paper: overcast skies that softened the light, barely a breath of wind, and a camera battery at full charge. But nature is nothing if not humbling. The deer remained ghost-like, unseen despite hours of quiet patience and soft steps.By late afternoon my hopes had dimmed so I began the slow walk back to the car. The path wound through
